Planning Board

The Town of Pittsboro Planning Board is an advisory body that makes recommendations to the Town Board of Commissioners on planning items, such as long-range development plans, land use studies, rezoning requests and text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance.

The Planning Board currently consists of six members. Four reside in Pittsboro town limits and were appointed by the Town Board of Commissioners. The other two reside in Pittsboro' extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) and were appointed by the Chatham County Board of Commissioners. You can find the Planning Board's regular meeting schedule below.

Board of Adjustment

The Town of Pittsboro is establishing a Board of Adjustment and welcomes residents to apply. The Board of Adjustment holds evidentiary hearings to make decisions on planning items, such as variance requests, Special Use Permits, and appeals of Zoning Administrator determinations.
