Community Service Projects

Eagle Scout, Girl Scout and other Scout Projects

The Town of Pittsboro Parks and Recreation Department is proud to act as a beneficiary to Eagle Scout, Girl Scout and other service projects completed within the parks system. Applications are accepted and must be completed within one (1) year of acceptance. Project approvals are at the department's discretion and are based on need, feasibility, and available resources.

The Town also considers projects not on the pre-approved project list on a case-by-case basis. Please fill out the Service Project Application to determine project feasibility and be connected with the appropriate staff members.

Ready to partner on your service project?

Pittsboro Parks and Recreation is proud to act as beneficiary for community service projects completed within the parks system. One of the service project program's main purposes is to learn and enhance leadership skills through creation, coordination, and implementation. The applicant must be the leader and primary point of contact throughout the project and should make every effort to stay on schedule through the process and completion. Please note that the Town of Pittsboro Parks and Recreation Department has limited resources and expects that the applicant will provide all details and materials to complete the project. To apply for a community service project spot, please look over the following guidelines and complete the application process.

Service Project Process and Guidelines

  • Read packet guidelines and requirements and choose a service project that most interests you from the Town of Pittsboro approved list.
  • Complete the Town of Pittsboro Community Service Project Application. If you have a service organization workbook, please complete it thoroughly and attach it to the Town of Pittsboro.
