July is National Park and Recreation Month! We are so excited to celebrate it with you this month! Check out the calendar below to see how you can celebrate and participate all month long! However you choose to enjoy Park and Recreation Month, we encourage you to get out in the community and HAVE FUN!

Chalk the Walk

Stop by Mary Hayes Barber Holmes on July 7th from 9am-12pm to help us celebrate Park and Recreation Month and create a new park memory! Spread a little joy and inspiration through a favorite childhood pastime. Relive your childhood and turn the trail of MHBH into a canvas of color! All ages are welcome, and chalk will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!
Popsicles in the Park
Town Lake Park

Want to get outside during Park and Recreation Month? Our staff will be at Town Lake Park on Tuesday, July 11th to hand out popsicles and provide some lawn games for yummy and memorable experience for everyone! (while supplies last)
Summer Kits
Knight Farm Park

To celebrate the summer and Parks and Recreation month, we will be out at Knight Farm Park to hand out FREE summer themed take-home craft kits (while supplies last).
Storytime – Little Sunflower: Nature Stories
Kiwanis Park

Trees and vegetation in parks help reduce air pollution directly by removing pollutants and reducing air temperature. Come take a breath of fresh air at Kiwanis Park as we celebrate #WhereCommunityGrows with a story time and craft, led by our Parks and Recreation Coordinator! We will be reading Little Sunflower and creating a sunflower craft. All ages welcome but geared towards ages 0-5.
Rock Painting
Rock Ridge Park
Monday, July 31
1:00pm – 3:00pm
Come make ordinary rocks into colorful and unique works of art! Each artist can paint a rock and hide it on the trails of the park for other visitors to find or to decorate your garden at home! Located at Rock Ridge Park, all ages welcome. Paint pens will be provided.
