Delanie graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 2011, with an Associate's degree in Arts. In May of 2012, Delanie graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training and was hired by the Pittsboro Police Department later that fall. Delanie served on patrol for two years before being promoted to Community Police Officer in October of 2014. She is currently a member of the North Carolina Crime Prevention Association and also serves on several local coalitions to include Chatham Drug Free and Chatham Safe Kids. Delanie also serves as the Domestic Violence Investigator for the Pittsboro Police Department and works closely with Family Violence Rape Crisis (FVRC), a local advocate for victims of Domestic Violence. She is currently working on obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice through Western Carolina University.
